Tom Kowalski

A few days ago, my neighbor Tom Kowalski collapsed in his home and passed away.  He was loved and respected by everyone he knew and the entire state of Michigan as well as the sporting world will miss him dearly.

My memory of him is not as a writer or sportscaster but as the big guy I would see playing baseball with the neighborhood kids and laughing at party.
No one of us knows when our last day will be.  The best we can hope for is that when we are gone, we will be missed by many, rejoiced and not mourned and that the things we did on this earth mattered.  Not just in the big name in print ways but in the backyard baseball game with the kids on the street.
