The Annual I HATE MY HAIR week.

It seems as if every year the same thing happens. I spend the entire summer and spring growing my hair out and as soon as it gets long I want to cut it.

Here is the problem. I have baby fine hair. Luckily, I have lots of it but it is completely straight. This is very. very unfair because everyone in my family has thick naturally curly hair except me. I was able to hide this affliction in the 80’s by perming my hair and using lots of Paul Mitchell products. It was the style back then so I could get away with it. Big bangs , spiral perm and I was good to go.
Unfortunately that is no longer the case.
Now I have to address the going gray problem and can’t perm for the fear that I will over tax my fine hair and end up bald. As I have said before growing old isn’t for sissies especially for sissies with straight baby fine gray hair.
I have been searching online for the best hairstyle options for a middle aged graying woman with no volume and the search results are not impressive. Apparently my options are a bun or Sinead O’Connor style. I am sure if I add over weight round face to the list the search would come to a grinding halt. My screen would probably start flashing..BROWN BAG!! BROWN BAG!!!
I think it might be time to adopt my grandmothers style and spend every Friday morning under the dryer “getting my hair done”. Then I could wear a silk bonnet every night to bed and embarrass my kids when they have sleepovers. This is sounding more like a win win for me all the time.
