Gambling Soccer Mom

Lauri Caruso, 39, while working as an accounts bookkeeper at International Door in Canton embezzled 650,000.00 and gambled it all away.  This seemingly ordinary mom went from a casual gambler to a high roller betting and losing up to 10,000.00 a day.

How does a mother with a full time job find the time and energy to embezzle 650,000.00 and blow it all gambling? I need more information.

I could barely find time to go get a pedicure when my kids were little much less sneak away to a casino three times a week.
I gave in to the fact long ago that I couldn’t have a social life, a job and plenty of clean underwear.  I just couldn’t juggle it all. Therefore in the name of hygiene and making a living I gave up a social life. If I had been gambling three times a week everyone in my household would have been going “commando” and just plain losing their minds.
Wouldn’t it take a considerable amount of uninterrupted time to gamble away that much money?.  Where was her child?  Didn’t her family wonder where she was? How did she have enough cute outfits to wear out of the house three nights a week?  Most moms have their daily uniform (which usually consists of a track suit or jeans and a t-shirt), a funeral dress and a go out to dinner once a year outfit.
When my kids were small I seldom made it out of the subdivision heading to the grocery store without them calling for some reason. I could have gambled away about five dollars before someone would need assistance finding a baseball hat before a game or wanting me to make an “emergency” poster board run for a project that was due tomorrow.
I don’t know how she did it.  Maybe while she is in prison she can write a book about mommy time management solving the job, social life, clean underwear dilemma for all of us.  But I wouldn’t bet on it.

I know Lauri. She is really dedicated to her daughter and truely loves her. Those of us who do not have “addictions” cannot explain or understand why she did this. She will pay for her mistakes but she shouldn’t be concidered a bad mother for it. My prayers are with Lauri and her family.

Karma for this firm. They stole and cheated in the past and now the beast has got it’s revenge. Thanks Lauri
