Hotter Than The Hinges Of Hell

I have never been a fan of heat.  I am a 72 degrees sit in the shade sipping a drink kind of girl.  Growing up in the South I spent my summers hiding out inside with a book until the leaves started to change.  They say Southern girls don’t sweat, they glisten but this Southern girl didn’t want to do either.

I don’t like to sweat and I don’t have hot weather hair. I don’t tan or enjoy any type of outdoor activity with the exception of walking from the car to the mall.

So I found it funny and a little ironic that I ended up in the South during one of the hottest days on record.

I was trying to stay positive and enjoy being with the people I love,  I teased my limp hair and sprayed it to within an inch of it’s life. Destinations were chosen that had air conditioning.  I was on my own little episode of sweat diva survivor and I was not about to get voted off the island.

Just when I thought I would conquer the 110 degree heat and come out a winner I reached into my purse to retrieve my lipstick.  I grasped the shiny sliver Clinique tube and twisted.  When I placed the copper color to my lips I realized that it had melted. MELTED!!!  I hadn’t left my purse in the car or outside it had been with me the entire time.  I had been somewhere that was not conducive to cosmetics.  I had apparently crossed over from sweat diva survivor island into the gates of hell.

That is when I realized that it was time for this girl to go home.  I can’t be anywhere that is so hot that my lipstick melts. On this I will not waver. If you can’t have your emergency go to cosmetics you need to find the emergency exit which in my case was I 65 North.  Pedal to the metal I headed back to where I could have big hair, copper colored lips and not sweat profusely under my breasts.  For some home is where the heart is but for me home is where the heat isn’t!!!!
