Half Way House Needed

I recently received a shock to my system.  I returned from a Caribbean vacation paradise to the real world.  I am not as big a fan of the real world as I am of vacation and am most likely not alone in this feeling.  It only took me a week to adjust to white sandy beaches, umbrella drinks and the kid free serenity deck.  I am very skilled at adapting to luxury.  Always have been.

The only solution I can think of to avoid the shock of abrupt luxury withdrawal is a vacation half way house. For me the greatest shock seems to lie in leaving the world of umbrella drinks and landing in the land of laundry in the very same day.  It is so unjust to go from margaritas to mopping. It is just all too much of a shock for a mom to handle.
The only solution I can think of to avoid the shock of abrupt luxury withdrawal is a vacation half way house. This house would be a place you go when you leave your vacation paradise that provides you with a slow and less painful reentry to the world.
“Half Way Back Home” should have at least two loads of laundry to be done, a whiny child and a huge stack of unopened bills with at least one of them past due.   You spend the night there.  You only get one umbrella drink and it’s cloudy and overcast.
After your system has readjusted to the dull and monotonous activities of daily living you return to your life.  You head home and count down the days until you can walk away from your Swiffer and head back out to the high seas.
